WATERTOWN, S.D.—Watertown High School (WHS) students will continue on line learning for at least another week.

The high school kept students home starting this past Tuesday, and that was expected to last through today.

Yesterday, the school district issued a news release indicating the on line learning model will be used all of next week too because of, “a continued high number of positive COVID cases and close contacts.”

WHS has recorded 34 positive cases of the virus, with an estimated 250 close contacts.

All activities will be postponed or cancelled for Watertown students in grades seven through twelve through October 4th.

Classroom attendance will be monitored virtually via the regular classroom teachers, and the school district is asking for the cooperation of parents to assure that their child is participating in their school work from home.
