WATERTOWN, S.D.–Two men are in custody following a high speed chase just north of Watertown this (Tuesday) morning.
Codington County Sheriff Brad Howell says it began around 7 a.m. when a deputy encountered a stolen vehicle from Sioux Falls that he attempted to pull over on Sioux Conifer Road.
The vehicle refused to pull over, and took off northbound at speeds of 110 miles per hour.
The fleeing vehicle crashed and got stuck in the ditch near 164th Street.
The two occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot but the deputy was able to catch and arrest them.
The driver, 25 year-old Jimmie Sette-Frazier (pictured) of Sisseton was arrested for Aggravated Eluding, DWI, Reckless Driving, Ingesting a Controlled Substance, Grand Theft, Speeding, and a Stop Sign Violation.
The passenger, 21 year-old Storm Shepherd of Waubay, was arrested for Grand Theft and Ingesting a Controlled Subtance.
Howell says both men were out on parole for previous offenses at the time of this morning’s arrest.
