WEDNESDAY UPDATE: One additional COVID-19 death being reported in South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D.—South Dakota COVID-19 count rose to 1,858 infections on Wednesday, and the death toll went up one, to nine.

The State Health Department says 103 new cases are being reported today (Wednesday), 86 of which are in Minnehaha County.

The number of South Dakotans who’ve recovered from the virus has risen to 937.

Sixty-two people are currently hospitalized in South Dakota with COVID-19, down three from Tuesday.

Codington County’s number of cases remains at 13; a number than hasn’t changed in more than a week. All but one of those people has recovered.

Eighty-nine percent of all South Dakota infections have occurred in the counties of Minnehaha and Lincoln.
