SIOUX FALLS – A Waubay man has been indicted on a federal charge of Escape from Custody.

Thirty two year-old Levi Locke was indicted in May. He appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica Duffy last week, and pleaded not guilty.

Locke faces up to five years in prison.

The Indictment alleges that on or about April 13, Locke escaped while in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons. Locke was serving part of a federal sentence when he allegedly left the premises and did not return.

Locke was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending trial, which has been set for September 19, 2023.
