WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown’s snow plow drivers had a quiet winter, but that changed over the weekend when a storm system dumped close to a half-foot of snow on the city.

Street Department Director Rob Beynon tells KWAT News citywide plowing is taking place today, but depending on additional snowfall, they might have to go back and re-plow some areas later on…..

There’s been some driving in areas of Watertown that are not sheltered from the strong wind….

Beynon says they put down a brine material on highways and snow emergency routes before the snow started, and that seems to have worked well….

Even  after this latest round of snow, Beynon says they’ll leave the plows mounted onto the front of trucks for at least a few more weeks because, you never know….

Watertown is under a Winter Storm Warning until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
