WATERTOWN, S.D.–A panel discussion on landowner rights was held during the opening day of the Watertown Winter Farm Show Wednesday.
It was hosted by South Dakota Farmer’s Union.
Landowner rights have become a hot conversation topic as Summit Carbon Solutions attempts to secure a permit to build a carbon sequestration pipeline across the state.
KWAT News talked with South Dakota Farmer’s Union President Doug Sombke about what’s at stake….
Bills have been introduced in Pierre to make changes to South Dakota’s eminent domain laws.
Sombke says his group will continue pressing lawmakers to put in place legislation that will do a better job of protecting people’s personal property.
