Watertown School Board approves hiring of new WHS prinicpal, approves bid for WHS parking lot re-pave

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown High School will have a new principal in the 2022-23 academic year.

The School Board on Monday night approved the hiring of Patty McClemans. She’s been an assistant principal at Watertown High School for the past two years. She replaces Brad Brandsrud, who is retiring.

McClemans assumes her new position July 1st at an annual salary of $115,000.

Also at Monday night’s board meeting, the board approved a bid of $426,000 from Duinicnk Incorporated for repaving the east parking lot at the high school.

Business Manager Heidi Clausen announced that petitions for two vacancies on the school board can be circulated beginning April 7th, with a filing deadline of May 13th. The terms of school board members Jean Moulton and Stuart Stein are expiring this year. Both are expected to run for another three year term.
