Watertown residents can use green containers to dispose of extra waste over Christmas

WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Watertown Regional Landfill has announced that thru Friday, January 3rd, Watertown residents can use green yard waste containers for disposal of extra waste generated in the Christmas season.

You’re asked to place the green yard waste container at the curb with your blue garbage container the night before or by 5:00 AM on your normal collection day. Please allow 4 feet between each container.

An automated truck empties these containers. Residents must place all of their waste in the containers. No waste should be above the top or around the containers. Workers will only collect waste in the containers. Do not overfill or pack the containers or items can become lodged and the containers will not completely empty.
