WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown Regional Airport has been without a car rental company since August. That’s when Budget Car Rental pulled out of the airport due to staffing issues.

Today, the Airport Board meets to consider a replacement company.

The board will consider a proposal from Quest Car Rental to provide rental vehicles to travelers at the airport.

The proposal calls for Quest to serve Watertown through 2028, and agree to turn over 10-percent of their gross monthly revenue to the city.

The airport board can only make a recommendation on the Quest proposal. Final action would come from the city council, and it’s on their meeting agenda tonight too.

Quest is not a major player in the car rental business, but they do provide car rental services at other airports, including Alamosa, Colorado and Apalachicola, Florida.
