Watertown Regional Airport coming off busiest month ever! (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.—December was the busiest month on record at Watertown Regional Airport with more than 1,600 passengers boarding United Express flights to Chicago and Denver.

And the strong December pushed the yearly number of enplanements close to 12,000 according to Airport Manager Todd Syhre….

Syhre says with a full year of United Express service to two major hubs in 2020, he’s expecting an even better year this year….

This will be a big year at the airport as construction begins on a new terminal building this summer. It will be located just northeast of the existing terminal.

Watertown is receiving a $9 million federal grant to help cover construction costs.

Syhre says it should be finished in late 2021.
