WATERTOWN, S.D.–A Watertown man is facing a DUI charge after crashing his car into a light pole in Watertown early Sunday morning.

It happened just after 1:30 a.m. in the 300-block of 10th Street Northwest.

Twenty five year-old Jacob E. Brown was driving a car northbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control, left the roadway, and struck the light pole.

Brown declined medical treatment at the scene. He was arrested for Drunken Driving and Reckless Driving.

The car had heavy front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

Police Sergeant Scott Price says speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
