Watertown Fire Rescue responds to Sunday morning church fire

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown Fire Rescue was called out Sunday morning to a church fire.
The call to Foursquare Church at 1120 4th Street Northeast came in just a few minutes after 9 o’clock.
Crews arrived to find a smoke-filled building that was the result of an electrical fire in the sanctuary.
The fire was in several ceiling tiles that burned, along with some electrical cords that were used to power audio-visual equipment.
Church members used extinguishers to put out the fire prior to Fire Rescue’s arrival.
Damage was minimal. There were no injuries.
Fire Rescue used several fans to ventilate smoke from the church.
They were on the scene for about an hour and a half.
