Watertown City Council passes mask resolution

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Watertown City Council passed a mask resolution at Monday night’s meeting.

The resolution, which passed 7-3, states effective immediately, people shall wear masks indoors or outdoors if they are within six feet of someone who doesn’t reside in their same household. The resolution does not apply to people eating or drinking. . The resolution also states businesses and public gathering areas are expected to display signs encouraging the use of masks.

The resolution comes as Codington County as of Monday reports 530 active COVID-19 cases and 57 virus-related deaths.
