Watertown Beacon Center’s comfort dog Maggie dies  (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–A lot of heavy hearts at the Beacon Center in Watertown this week.

Their comfort dog, Maggie, died last week.

The Beacon Center assists victims of physical, sexual and mental abuse, and Maggie had been comforting victims of the center, and their children, for almost a decade.

Angie Meseberg is the Beacon Center’s Rural Outreach Coordinator, and Maggie’s owner. She tells KWAT News Maggie did some great work over the years, and cited one example…

Maggie died July 5th at the age of 15. No decision has been made on whether the Beacon Center will acquire a new comfort animal.
