Walz announces stepped up law enforcement through Minnesota State Fair

MINNEAPOLIS – Governor Tim Walz (pictured) announced Thursday afternoon at the U-S Bank Stadium light rail station in Minneapolis that Minnesota will maintain unprecedented state law enforcement presence in the Twin Cities metro area through the Minnesota State Fair.

He said, “Our job is to provide the support. This is to Minneapolis, it is to Saint Paul, it is to Greater Minnesota.”

The governor says the state will continue to support local law enforcement agencies until Minnesotans feel confident in the safety of the Twin Cities.

Republican challenger Scott Jensen says Governor Walz is doing more of the same as Minnesotans “feel the lawlessness that has seeped into our streets and communities.” Jensen asks, “Are you safer now than you were four years ago? The answer is no, and Walz must go.”
