WATERTOWN, S.D.–A Watertown woman arrested last week for shooting her husband in the face with a .22 caliber pistol has been indicted by a Grand Jury on more serious charges.

Codington County State’s Attorney Becky Morlock-Reeves tells KWAT News a four count indictment handed down Monday charges 65 year-old Sherri Tormanen (pictured) with Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possessing a Loaded Firearm While Intoxicated and Committing a Felony While Armed.

Tormanen was initially arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.

Police were called to the 10-block of Third Street Southwest the evening of August 4th on a report of a gunshot wound. They arrived to find Randy Tormanen with gunshot wounds to his face. He was initially taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital, then transferred to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls for advanced medical treatment.

Sherri Tormanen is being held in the Codington County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond. She’s scheduled for arraignment Wednesday morning before Judge Carmen Means.
