FLANDREAU, S.D.–A court appearance is scheduled for nine o’clock this morning in Flandreau for a Sioux Falls man charged in the death of the Chief Deputy Sheriff in Moody County.

Fifty one year-old Ken Prorok (pictured) of Wentworth, South Dakota was killed Friday afternoon.

It involved a police pursuit, but the details of exactly how Prorok was killed, and where, have not been released.

Prorok had been with the Moody County Sheriff’s Office since 2016.

Forty year-old Joseph Hoek has been arrested in connection with the incident that led to Prorok’s death.
