WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Watertown City Council holds a work session this (Monday) afternoon to discuss three topics.

One of those topics is to review the licensing fees imposed for medical marijuana dispensaries, cultivation facilities, testing facilities and manufactuing facilities. In September 2021, the city council set the application fee at $25,000.

The council will also discuss proposed changes to Watertown’s snow emergency delcaration tonight. City Manager Amanda Mack is proposing that she have the authority to declare a snow emergency, which triggers parking restrictions on city streets. There’s also talk of removing the two inch snowfall minimum requirement to trigger no parking.

Lastly, the council will discussion potential updates to Watertown’s C-L-Lake Commercial zoning district to accomodate development at Lake Kampeska.

Because it’s a work session, no votes will be taken on any of the topics. There will be discussion only.
