SUNDAY UPDATE: South Dakota reports 11th death from COVID-19 virus

PIERRE, S.D.–An eleventh person has died in South Dakota from the COVID-19 virus.

The State Health Department reported 65 new cases of coronavirus in South Dakota in their daily report Sunday. Fifty-eight of those were in Minnehaha County, which accounts for about 90-percent of all cases that have been seen in the state.

The cumulative statewide total number of infections is 2, 212. Of that number, 1,257 people have recovered. 

Sixty-one people are currently hospitalized in South Dakota with COVID-19. 

Codington  County held steady at 14  total cases, although 13 of those people have already recovered, leaving the county with just a single active case.
