Southeastern North Dakota co-op making strides in restoring power

FARGO (KFGO) – Cass County Electric Cooperative is among the companies hit hard with damage from the Christmas Day ice storm across southeastern North Dakota.

The cooperative is making progress but nearly 800 customers are still without power.

Restoration efforts continue with line workers, contractors, and other Cass County Electric Personnel working to get the power back on.
The crews are working long hours, starting at 9 a.m. until about 9 p.m.

Although more than 100 polls were set, crews continue to find damaged poles, there are still approximately 800 broken poles that have to be replaced..

Cooperative spokesman Paul Matthys says the main priority is the safety of those working to restore power to member-consumers.

Cass County Electric has had storm damage in all ten of its counties it services in southeastern North Dakota.
