PIERRE, S.D.–A bill in the South Dakota Legislation that would adjust how South Dakota deals with daylight saving time has run out of time in the House State Affairs Committee.

District 20 Representative Ben Krohmer of Mitchell says House Bill 1009 would adjust the state’s time zones and not clocks…

Fort Pierre is in the Mountain Time Zone, but abides by Central Time for daily operation except where required to use it’s official time. Krohmer’s comment brought brief chuckles from the Committee and it’s chair, Fort Pierre’s District 24 Representative Will Mortenson.

The bill was defeated on an 11-2 vote.
