WATERTOWN, S.D.–Russia’s war with Ukraine has only added to energy uncertainty around the world, and that’s reflected in gasoline prices that continue to climb.

Several stations in Watertown raised the price of a gallon of regular unleaded by another dime on Tuesday, to $3.59 a gallon.

The AAA Auto Club reports the national average price of gas is now $3.65 a gallon.

South Dakota’s statewide average is $3.47 a gallon. A year ago at this time, South Dakota’s average price was $2.70 a gallon.

The International Energy Agency says the United States and other world powers have agreed to release 60 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves, a move that is intended to reduce the rapid increase of gasoline prices.
