South Dakota DOC searching for escaped inmate

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–A state prison offender has been placed on escape status.
Offender Kobey Saunsoci fled from correctional staff following a medical appointment in Rapid City this afternoon. Law enforcement was notified immediately.
Saunsoci was last seen wearing an orange t-shirt and khaki pants.
The 22 year-old Saunsoci is a Native American male. He is 6-feet-2-inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
He is serving sentences for grand theft and possession of a controlled substance out of Pennington County.
