UNDATED–The executive director of South Dakota’s Democrat Party has quit after only two months on the job.

Dan Ahlers (pictured) submitted his resignation last week after being hired in May to run the day-to-day operations of the party.

The Dakota Scout reports that in an email to the state party’s Central Committee members informing them of his resignation, Ahlers hinted his issues were with Democrat Party Chairwoman Jennifer Slaight-Hansen, including allegations of a hostile work environment, and violating campaign finance and party bylaws.

Ahlers claims Slaight-Hansen uses foul and demeaning language with Democrat Party staff.

Ahlers wrote in the email, “When I try to advise the chair on these matters, she becomes angry and reminds me that I work for her. This party is not about one person. It is about a team.”

Ahlers is a former administrator of the Dell Rapids Chamber of Commerce, small business owner, and one time state legislator.
