Some Watertown businesses face first full week of city-orderered business closures (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–This will be the first full week many Watertown businesses are closed due to coronavirus.

An emergency ordinance passed by the city last week ordered some, but not all, non-essential businesses to close their doors.

That ordinance went into effect on Thursday.

It could be awhile before the ordinance is lifted. Caron says they’ll need to see COVID-19 numbers trending downward, and right now, they’re just beginning to climb….

Many people are working from home these days—if their job and employers allows for it—and that includes people who work for the city…
