Dell Rapids St. Mary 44, Potter County 42, 2/OT
VERMILLION, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Nic Gaspar ran it in from two yards out and Dell Rapid St. Mary converted the two-pointer to defeat Potter County in double overtime 44-42 in the Class 9B championship game. Gaspar rushed for 103 yards on 21 carries and two TD’s. Potter County’s Grant Luikens went 16 of 25 through the air for 297 yards and four touchdowns and carried 12 times for 15 yards and two TD’s on the ground. Battlers finish 10-3, Dell Rapids St. Mary wraps at 8-3.

Howard 55, Herreid/Selby Area 18
VERMILLION, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Howard racked up 467 yards of offense in a 55-18 win over Herreid/Selby Area to claim the Class 9A crown. John Callies, Griffin Clubb, and Ty Beyer each rushed for over one hundred yards on the day. Callie for 138 and three TD’s, Clubb 115 and two TD’s, and Beyer 107 and cracked the endzone twice. Tray Hettick passed for 238 yards and three touchdowns for the Wolverines who finish their year 12-1. Howard wraps at 12-0.

Platte-Geddes 14, Canistota/Freeman 8
VERMILLION, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Dawson Hoffman tossed the go ahead nine-yard touchdown pass to Aiden Bultje with 3:33 left as Platte-Geddes was crowned the Class 9AA champion over Canistota/Freeman 14-8. Hoffman ended the night going 7-5 for 97 yards. Tate Ortman scored the lone touchdown for the Pride who ended their year at 7-5. The Black Panthers are 10-2.
