BISMARCK, N.D.–As technology continues to advance methods of farming, concerns over how to fix stalled or broken-down equipment are rising with it.
Mark Watne is President of North Dakota Farmer’s Union. He says equipment manufacturers are getting too much power when it comes to the technology on equipment.
He says the farmer has paid for a service, but when it comes to making timely repairs an alternative is needed. Watne says that’s where “Right to Repair” legislation would come in…
Watne says a bill that would begin the process has been introduced by Montana U-S Senator Jon Tester. He says there appears to be an appetite for the return of control among farmers as well as with President Biden.
