SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–The American Postal Workers Union is expressing concern about how a new ten-year plan could impact the region.

As part of a $40 billion investment, the US Postal Service is introducing a plan to improve and upgrade its processing and distribution, calling it the “Delivering for America” plan.

Among the proposed changes to improve efficiency, some of the processing would be moved out of Sioux Falls and into Omaha, Nebraska.

The Postal Service is seeking to modernize what they call an aging postal network. They said the Delivering for America plan would lower operating costs while improving competitiveness and efficiency.
