Pedestrian killed northeast of Waubay

WAUBAY, S.D. – One person died early Saturday morning in a vehicle-pedestrian crash three miles northeast of Waubay.

Names of the people involved are not yet being released pending notification to family members.

A car was northbound on Day County Road One when it struck a 37-year-old male pedestrian who was in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both occupants of the car, the 48-year-old male driver and the 33-year-old female passenger, received minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to the Webster hospital.
