NWS says April was a wet, cold, windy month in Watertown

WATERTOWN, S.D.–If the weather in the month of April in Watertown seemed to be miserable, there are now numbers to back that up.
The National Weather Service says measurable rain fell 13 days during the month. Total precipitation in April was 3.51 inches, or 1.45 inches above normal.
Watertown also saw 2.9 inches of snow during the month.
Temperatures in April were chilly. The average temperature was 37.3 degrees; a full 5 1/2 degrees colder than normal.
Watertown also saw plenty of wind in April, including a peak gust of 65 miles per hour on April 23rd.
