North Dakota daycare provider pleads guilty in death of five month old child

CARRINGTON, N.D.–A Jamestown woman has entered a guilty plea to a charge of murder in the death of a five-month-old.
The Foster County State’s Attorney says Patricia Wick was arrested nearly a year ago after an investigation by Carrington Police and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Court documents say in September 2022, police responded to an in-home daycare on a report of an unresponsive baby. The child later died at a Fargo hospital.
Wick’s jury trial was scheduled to begin Jan. 29. She was also charged with child abuse and operating a child care without a license.
A sentencing date is pending.
