Noem’s 2022 proposed budget emphasis reserve building

PIERE, S.D. (WNAX) — South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s budget proposal relies on a lot of one-time money and an emphasis on reserve
building.

She told legislators Tuesday that despite the pandemic, the economy of the state is in good shape

Noem wants legislators to continue expanding high-speed broadband across the state

Noem is also including some continuing budget increases

She also proposed other major projects including a new animal barn at the State Fairgrounds in Huron, expansions to the state radio system and upgrades in and around Ellsworth Airforce Base in Rapid City. Legislators will include her ideas in the 2022 budget they have to pass by the end of March.
