WATERTOWN, S.D.–Governor Kristi Noem has largely been silent on the topic of carbon capture pipelines proposed to be built in South Dakota, but that changed this week, when she laid out her position on the topic in an interview with our newsroom….
Ed Fischbach is a pipeline opponent. He says the governor could quickly prove her support for landowners by calling a special session of the legislature….
The CO-2 pipelines proposed by Summit Carbon Solutions and Navigator have not been permitted.
Hearings on permit applications will be held before the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission later this summer and fall.
