WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown High School is mourning the death of one of its students.
Watertown School Board President Tammy Rieber opened Monday night’s school board meeting requesting a moment of silence in remembrance of the loss of the 11th grade student…
A text message sent to parents of schoolchildren Monday night said, “Linnea Allbee, a junior at WHS, died on Monday February 14th after having been admitted to the hospital for influenza in January, and developing other medical conditions in the meantime. Students will be notified Tuesday morning in their individual classes about this death. Counselors are available to students at school on Tuesday. We are also supported by local mental health professionals and can provide you with referrals as needed. As the school community continues to cope with the loss of Linnea, we invite your participation in the healing process. Please feel free to contact the school at any time with questions or concerns.”
Superintendent Dr. Jeff Danielsen touched on the counseling aspect of this loss at Monday night’s school board meeting…
The Wight and Comes Funeral Home says Linnea died today (Monday) at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services are pending.
Linnea Allbee was 16 years old.
