WATERTOWN, S.D.–Denver Air Connection, which is Watertown’s one and only commercial airline, announced a new ticketing and baggage transfer agreement with Delta Air Lines today.

The agreement allows passengers to book travel coordinated between Denver Air Connection and Delta Air Lines in a single reservation, with a single ticket and one credit card transaction.

When traveling, passengers will be able to check their baggage through to their final destination – eliminating the need to re-check bags, and re-clear security when trips are purchased as two separate agreements.

The interline agreement, as its known, takes effect January 30th.

Right now, Denver Air flies non-stop from Watertown to Denver and Chicago.

But with this new interline agreement, Watertown City Manager Amanda Mack says one of those destinations could change…

So what’s next for air service out of Watertown…..

Mack says the question remains “how many people will fly to the Twin Cities versus to Chicago” because unless it’s to catch a connecting flight, Minneapolis-St. Paul is a drivable distance….

Last year, just over 6,000 people flew on Denver Air from Watertown to Chicago O’Hare Airport.
