Municipal elections being held in South Dakota today

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Municipal elections are being held in some South Dakota towns and cities today, including a few races in northeast South Dakota.

In Henry, three candidates are running for a two year term on the city council. The candidates are Charles Heustess, Don Larson and Hanna Owen.

In Willow Lake, Finance Officer Heidi Madsen says there’s a mayoral race between incumbent Delwin Bratland and challenger Lane Wirtjes.

There’s also a Ward 2 City Council seat up for grabs in Willow Lake today. The incumbent on the ballot is Steven Johnson. He’s being challenged by Laura Heinle.

In both Willow Lake races, the winner gets a two year term.
