WATERTOWN, S.D.–A piece of metal artwork was unveiled this afternoon on the Lake Area Technical College campus.

The sculpture is entitled, “Reach,” and it was designed and produced by LATC graduate Tessa Holien.

Tessa graduated simultaneously from Watertown High School and LATC’s Welding Technology program last year.

KWAT News caught up with her at the unveiling…

She’s happy with how the sculpture turned out…

Tessa will be a sophomore at SDSU this fall, and is majoring in Business Economics and Design. She says she’ll continue to use the welding skills she learned at LATC to design and make more metal sculptures in the future.

The sculpture can be seen at the corner of Arrow Avenue and 13th Street Northeast–just east of the LATC Student Center.
