Manager of North Dakota regional airport fired

November 19, 2021

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KFGO/KZZY) – The manager of the Devils Lake Regional Airport has been fired by the Airport Authority Board.

According to a memo dated Wednesday, Bethany Hart was terminated effective immediately. Hart’s firing follows a formal warning letter sent to the airport authority board last month by the FAA. The letter cited several issues the FAA uncovered following a records inspection earlier this year.

The October letter goes on to say that the errors suggest the Devils Lake airport does not possess qualified personnel to oversee regulatory requirements.

Hart’s termination letter says the airport authority had to hire a third-party consultant at a significant cost to correct the deficiencies.

Hart served as the airport manager for less than two years.
