WATERTOWN, S.D.–Construction crews are wrapping up work on the $36.5 million Prairie Lakes Ice Arena on Watertown’s east side, and it’ll be ready to host the Girl’s State Hockey Tournament in early March.

City Manager Amanda Mack says the contractors will turn over ownership of the building to the city in just a few weeks…

Mack says a ribbon-cutting has tentatively been scheduled for February 29th, right before that state hockey tournament is played there.

The building will feature two sheets of ice and will replace the aging Maas Ice Arena as Watertown’s featured venue for hockey players and figure skaters.
