WATERTOWN, S.D.–Lake Area Technical College will assume ownership of the former Garfield Elementary School following Watertown School Board action Monday night.

LATC President Tiffany Sanderson told the school board the college plans to utilize Garfield for an expanded daycare facility….
Sanderson told the board that property adjacent to Garfield could be purchased in the future, with the land being used for new student housing construction for LATC, although she said nothing is imminent in that regard at the moment.
