Holien addresses fees for architect that will design new ice arena (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–The city of Watertown has hired a big time architectual firm to design a new two-sheet ice arena that’ll be built next year along Willow Creek Drive.

The 292 Design Group of Minneapolis was awarded the contract by the city council this week. They’ll be paid 5.5% of the guaranteed maximum price the city will pay to get the arena built.

Holien says the architectual fees have already been negotiated down before construction even begins…

The city council also approved an amended purchases agreement with the landowner where the arena will be built.

Holien says that was done to accomodate spin-off development near the new arena….
