Head on crash kills man east of Britton

BRITTON, S.D.–One person was killed and another injured Tuesday morning in a head on crash on South Dakota Highway 10 in Marshall County.
The Highway Patrol says it happened just after 9 a.m. , eight miles east of Britton when an eastbound pickup drifted into the westbound lane and collided head on with a Chevy Malibu.
The 83 year-old man driving the pickup was dead at the scene.
The 18 year-old man driving the car sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to an Aberdeen hospital.
The crash shut down that portion of the highway for about five hours.
Names of those involved have not been released.
