Former Sioux Falls mayoral, city council candidate arrested

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–Assault charges landed a former Sioux Falls Mayoral and City Council candidate in jail.
Sixty two year old David Zokaites is accused of trying to strangle a woman, and of preventing her from calling for help.
A judge released him with instructions to stay away from the victim and to make no contact with her.
Zokaites has said he plans to run for Mayor again in the future.
