Former Henry School District teacher sentenced to one year in prison

WATERTOWN, S.D.–A former Henry School District teacher has been sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty to sexual contact with a minor.
Shanna Ries was given a two-year sentence in the state penitentiary with one year suspended after pleading guilty to the charge of Sexual Contact with a Child under 18 by a Person of Authority.
The victim, in this case, was a 16 year-old boy.
Ries resigned from her teaching position after being charged.
She taught English Language Arts to middle and high school students.
