Fire departments dispatched to chicken coop fire in Brookings County

BROOKINGS, S.D.–A chicken coop burned down east of Brookings, resulting in $35,000 in losses.
The fire occurred at a farm on 485th Avenue near U.S. Highway 14.
Fire departments from Elkton, Aurora, Bruce, Sinai, Volga, White and Brookings responded.
The fire also damaged an adjacent barn before the chicken coop could be moved away from the building by the farmowner using a loader.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
