Drug bust nets two arrests in Day County

WEBSTER, S.D.—Two people were arrested in Day County on drug charges Tuesday.

 

Sheriff Ryan Rucktaeschel says a deputy came upon the suspect’s vehicle on U.S. Highway 12 between Webster and Waubay.

 

He immediately noticed drug paraphernalia, and was granted consent to search the vehicle.

 

The deputy found user amounts of meth, a meth pipe and $3,180 in cash (pictured).

 

The suspects, one male and one female, were booked into jail but have since bonded out. Their names have not been released.

 

Rucktaeschel says it appears the pair was returning from a drug run to this area when they were caught.
