Drug Arrests in Watertown Tuesday Evening

On 02/09/2022 at approximately 6:07 pm, the Watertown Police Department executed a
search warrant in the 100 block of 1st Avenue SW. During the search, officers located
methamphetamine, numerous illegally possessed prescription pills, and mushrooms in
the residence. Evidence of distribution of the illegal substances was also discovered.
There was a 3-year-old child inside the residence at the time of the search warrant.
Child Protection Services responded to the scene to assist. A safety plan was developed
for the child.
Diego Villarreal (28-years-old from Watertown, SD) was arrested for possession of a
controlled substance, ingestion of a controlled substance, possession of drug
paraphernalia, and maintaining a place where drugs are kept, sold, or used.
Shanda Carder (40-years-old from Watertown, SD) was arrested for possession with
intent to distribute a controlled substance, three counts of ingestion of a controlled
substance, inhabiting a room knowing drugs are kept or used there, and possession of
drug paraphernalia. Shanda is also on parole for controlled substance and was listed as
an absconder. She was held on a parole detainer and outstanding warrants.
Elizabeth Johnson (41-years-old from Watertown, SD) was arrested for possession with
intent to distribute a controlled substance, ingestion of a controlled substance, and
possession of drug paraphernalia. Elizabeth is also on probation for controlled
substance. She was also held on a probation detainer.
Additional charges are pending.

Criminal Investigation.
