DHBB: Chargers make it a doubleheader sweep of Falcons

FLORENCE, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) – Hamlin would just hold off Florence/Henry for a 47-43 win in high school girls basketball Thursday night as heard on Watertown Radio Sports. Down 26-20 at the half, the Chargers would go on an 11-0 run in the third to take the lead and never give it back.

Hamlin was led by Kami Wadsworth with 23 points, 14 of those in the second half. Addison Neuendorf added 11, Ally Abraham with eight, and Zoie Fraser with 5.

Two Falcons would score in double figures with Caylin Kelly netting 18 points, seven boards, and two blocks. Reese Schmidt added 12 while Carley Moe had six points.

The Florence/Henry girls fall to 15-3 and wrap their season against Sisseton tonight. Hamlin improves to 16-3 also wraps their season tonight against Britton-Hecla.

On the boys’ side of the doubleheader, Hamlin would hold Florence/Henry to just two points in the second quarter to be the difference-maker in a 61-52 victory.

Brennan Keszler led all scorers for the Chargers with 20 points, Evan Stormo added 15 while Easton Neuendorf contributed eight.

Tegan Sumner led the Falcons with 18 points, Peyton Roe added 12.

Florence/Henry falls to 7-10 at travels to the Warner Classic to face Ipswich on Saturday. Hamlin improves to 11-6 and faces Britton-Hecla tonight.
