WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Watertown School District brought in a new nutrition manager in January to correct what had become an ugly situation in district lunchrooms.

There were complaints that ranged from portion sizes to the type of food being served, and that led to angry comments from students and parents on social media, and the resignation of Nutrition Manager Lakeya Maddox.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Danielsen tells KWAT News all the problems haven’t been fixed since a change in leadership was made, but things are headed in the right direction…

Danielsen says he hopes it can be a learning experience…..

On a completely unrelated topic, Watertown schools have not had to worry about using “storm days” this winter…

The last day of the school year in Watertown is scheduled for May 25th.
