BROOKINGS, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — South Dakota State women’s soccer readies to open the season this Thursday night.

Coach Brock Thompson says they return a high-scoring team that will be challenged this year:

Thompson says the table is set for them to have a successful season:

SDSU was picked to take second by a slim margin to Denver in the 2022 Summit League preseason poll released yesterday. The Jackrabbits garnered four first-place votes and totaled 76 points, while Denver received six first-place votes and 78 points.

State will look to defend its Summit League title this season but there will be changes to the conference postseason this year. Thompson gives us the details:

SDSU opens the season with a trio of games over six days in Arizona beginning Thursday (8-18-22) at Arizona State.
